A rewarding trek on Mount Longido (≈ 2,637 m) — a lesser-known mountain near Arusha offering wildlife, Maasai culture and sweeping views across the Kenyan-Tanzanian border.

Itinerary Overview

This trek takes you from Arusha into the Maasai lands and up Mount Longido, combining nature, culture and panoramic views. Ideal as a short expedition or acclimatisation trek.

Day by Day Activities

Day 1: Arusha → Longido Village → Camp (~2,000 m)

Drive from Arusha to Longido village then hike through semi-arid bushland and montane forest up to your campsite at around 2,000 m. Overnight on the mountain.

Day 2: Camp → Summit (~2,637 m) → Longido Village → Arusha

Early morning summit push to Mount Longido’s peak (~2,637 m). After reaching the top and enjoying views, descend back to the village for lunch and transfer to Arusha in the afternoon.
